Our mission is simple. It is all about fun, fitness, learning and competition. Tennis is a life-long sport. If you are not having fun you won’t stay with it. So, fun is the fundamental. Next is fitness. We all feel better when we are active. Fun and fit are a good combination. We never stop learning and that is what our clinics and programs are all about. Competition can mean a Saturday morning match with your best friend or participation in one of our tournament level junior clinics. At CRC we want to make available the tools that help improve your game. The result is more fun and better fitness.
CRC has been operating at its current location since 1972. The original plan for CRC had two driving elements:
Build a quality tennis facility that would serve residents of Bronxville and the surrounding communities and,
Enhance Concordia College by making available a tennis facility for students the quality of which is rare to small colleges. At the time there was also the plan to further enhance the College by building a first class tennis program.
What resulted is a Private/Academic partnership that has endured for over 40 years.
CRC is a small club measured by the size of tennis clubs today. We like to think that is an advantage. It is easy place to get to know other members. There is plenty of social/recreational tennis. There is also a good amount of competitive tennis and programs and clinics that support all levels.
Many of our teaching professionals are former Concordia College players. Most of our Club Staff are current members of the Concordia men’s and women’s tennis teams.

Neil Tarangioli, is the Tennis Director for the CRC and the Head Tennis Coach at Concordia College. He has held this position for over 35 years. A few of the CRC’s teaching professionals have played for Neil and Concordia. In addition many of the local pros at other clubs are alumni of the Concordia Tennis Teams !
CRC’s agreements with Concordia set aside specific times for use of the facilities for team practice and hosting of home matches.
CRC is proud of our relationship with Concordia. Many of the team members are honor students and graduation rate of the players is over 90 %. Current team members come from 9 different countries on 3 continents. They bring unique backgrounds, youth, energy and culture to CRC. We feel that getting to know these student/athletes enhances the CRC experience.
The tennis teams have been consistently ranked in the top 40 nationally for the past several years. Both teams have qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championship Tournament for the past 8 years. In addition, over the past 12 years one or both teams have advanced to the NCAA D-II Sweet Sixteen and 4 times the Men’s Team has reached the Final Four while the women’s best finish was the Elite Eight. Quite an accomplishment for a school with a student body of less than 700 Undergraduate students.
